LDL-to-ApoB Ratio

LDL-ApoB Ratio (LAR) compares low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) content with the number of LDL particles as estimated by Apolipoprotein B (ApoB), the main protein in LDL particles. Since each particle carries one apoB molecule, this ratio provides insight into LDL particle composition. A lower LAR suggests smaller, less dense LDL particles which are more atherogenic and associated with decreased cardiovascular health. [44] [45]
