Inflammatory Health
For inflammatory health, we model and predict the 15-year probability of elevated GDF15, a biomarker associated in published literature with inflammation and cellular stress. Persistently elevated GDF15 levels have been reported to be associated with cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated biological aging.[13] GDF15 is used as a surrogate marker for inflammatory burden. It is not a diagnostic endpoint for any specific disease, and associations reported in this section should not be interpreted as evidence that GDF15 causes clinical disease in an individual.
Chronic low-grade inflammation is recognized as a key contributor to atherosclerosis and other forms of cardiovascular disease. Inflammaging, the gradual acceleration of aging driven by persistent inflammation, may also play a significant role in several chronic age-related conditions affecting the brain, heart, and kidneys, including dementia, type 2 diabetes, and kidney disease.[14]
Below are values for our model’s most predictive biomarkers for GDF15 in males and females aged 40 to 70.
