Systolic Blood Pressure

Systolic Blood Pressure is the top number in a blood pressure reading. Blood pressure is divided into two values: systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure indicates the pressure in the arteries as the heart contracts and blood flows from the heart and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). The clinical reference for optimal blood pressure is <120 mmHg. [23]
